North West Takes the Stage During Dad Kanye West’s Concert for Surprise Duet

All the lights were shining on North West as she took the stage alongside her father, Kanye "Ye" West, during his concert at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium on April 1. But their duets were no joke. In front of more than 70,000 attendees, North and her dad performed their two collaborative songs, "Talking" and "Piercing On My Hand." For the occasion, North appeared with her signature turquoise hair styled into pigtails, black sneakers, black pants, and a matching sweatshirt advertising the concert. The eldest of Ye and Kim Kardashian's four kids completed her look with large black sunglasses and a chunky, glittering skull and crossbones chain around her neck.

Meanwhile, Ye—for whom the performance marked his first time performing live in LA since 2021—donned an all-gray ensemble. As for their tracks, "Piercing On My Hand" is a direct clapback at the haters who have criticized the tween for her fashion and body piercing choices. "Piercing on my hand, the other for them bands," North raps in the song. "No friendship if you do not understand. Shopping in Japan that's where I always am. Went to school for two days then I got banned." Plus, she confirms in the song that she has no plans to alter her style choices any time soon.

"I want more piercings and tats, I love blue hair put it in some plaits," she continues in the song. "Put the music to the max. I want 100,000 racks." And this isn't the first time North has shown she isn't paying attention to her critics. Amid backlash over her dermal piercing, she lip-synced to a TikTok sound in a Dec. 15 video, "Why are you crying? How old are you? Just pull it together." She captioned the post, "This is for everyone that's mad over a finger piercing."

As for how her mom—who also shares kids Saint, 10, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6, with Ye, in addition to North—feels about her eldest's style, she's just happy to let her daughter be who she is. "She'll be like, 'Mom, I saw this and I don't really care if someone says they don't like my blue hair, or my this or that,'" the Kardashian star told Alex Cooper during her October appearance on Call Her Daddy. "And she's really confident and is like, 'I probably wouldn't be hanging out with those people.'"

Plus, Kim runs a tight ship in other areas of her kids' lives. "I think like the one misconception that people might have is like, 'Oh, she's trying to be her bestie and lets her get away with a lot,'" the SKIMS founder said during an appearance on the Jan. 21 episode of sister Khloe Kardashian's podcast. "Like, no. North actually has a lot of rules. The one area is I do let her express herself, and I do let her do that. And I love her for it."
