Olympic Figure Skater Alysa Liu Removing D4vd Music From Routine Amid Police Investigation

Alysa Liu is gracefully charting a new course. As she gears up for the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics, the renowned figure skater has declared that she will no longer incorporate the songs “This Is How It Feels” by D4vd—whose car is at the heart of a police probe into the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez—and “Laufey” into her short program routine for the entire 2025-2026 season.

“In light of recent events, my team and I are resolutely steering towards a different path that resonates with my values and my overall ethos,” Alysa penned on Instagram on September 24. “I’m thrilled to embark on a brainstorming journey for fresh ideas, and I’m committed to ensuring that my creative process unfolds without haste.”

The 20-year-old prodigy, who clinched the World Championship title in March after surprisingly announcing her retirement from competitive skating in April 2022, also disclosed that she would be performing older routines for the foreseeable future. “In the interim, you might catch glimpses of some familiar programs,” she continued. “Thank you for your unwavering support!”

Earlier this month, the Los Angeles Police Department stumbled upon Rivas Hernandez’s remains concealed in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to D4vd, 20, following a call reporting a “foul odor” emanating from the vehicle while it was parked at a Hollywood impound lot. Authorities revealed that the car had been languishing there for several days after being towed from the Hollywood Hills, where it was initially reported as abandoned.

At the time of the harrowing discovery, D4vd was in the midst of a tour to promote his debut album, Withered. He has since called off the remainder of his U.S. tour dates.

The cause of Rivas Hernandez’s death remains undetermined amid the ongoing investigation, according to records reviewed by E! News from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office. Meanwhile, officials confirmed to TMZ that the victim’s family was reunited with her remains on September 23.

Although the LAPD has yet to identify a person of interest or a suspect in the case, a spokesperson for D4vd informed NBC News last week that the “Romantic Homicide” singer is “fully cooperating with the authorities.”
