Oscar-nominated artist Celeste has resurfaced with a mesmerizing new single, "This Is Who I Am," serving as the thematic anthem for the impending Sky and Peacock original series, The Day of the Jackal. This British singer-songwriter, whose groundbreaking debut album, Not Your Muse, soared to the top of the U.K. albums chart, crafted the series' title track in collaboration with Kendrick Lamar's associates, Beach Noise. Celeste is also acclaimed for her Oscar-nominated composition, "Hear My Voice," co-penned with composer Daniel Pemberton for the Netflix film, The Trial of the Chicago 7.
"Celeste's 'This Is Who I Am' masterfully embodies the very spirit of The Day of the Jackal — both propelling and unmistakably unique," remarked Gareth Neame, CEO and executive producer, along with Nigel Marchant, managing director and executive producer, at Carnival Films. "We sought a song that would etched itself indelibly in our minds, and Celeste's compelling rendition accomplishes this with breathtaking depth and fervor, infusing the title sequence with an extraordinary richness."
Starring Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch, The Day of the Jackal is poised to make its U.S. debut on Peacock on November 14th, and will premiere on Sky and NOW in the U.K. on November 7th. The narrative follows Redmayne's character, a ruthless assassin who thrives on carrying out assignments for the highest bidder. However, after his latest lethal mission, he encounters his formidable adversary in the form of a relentless British intelligence officer portrayed by Lynch, initiating a heart-stopping game of cat and mouse across Europe, leaving a trail of devastation in their wake.
Rounding out the stellar cast are Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Úrsula Corberó, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O'Neill, Nick Blood, Sule Rimi, and Florisa Kamara. The Day of the Jackal is produced by Carnival Films, a division of Universal International Studios within the Universal Studio Group.
"This Is Who I Am" will be released via Polydor Records on November 6th.
