All eyes were captivated by Timothée Chalamet on Sunday evening as he graced the red carpet of the 2025 Oscars, striding as though treading on beams of sunshine. The 29-year-old charmed photographers at the 97th annual Academy Awards, striking poses in a bespoke yellow Givenchy suit that seemed to radiate warmth. Despite walking solo down the carpet, Chalamet had a very special companion by his side throughout the glamorous night.
Prior to the commencement of the ceremony, onlookers caught sight of Chalamet holding hands and sharing tender kisses with his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, inside the prestigious Dolby Theatre. The couple occupied a prime seat in the front row, their affection undiminished throughout the evening, as confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.
Host Conan O’Brien also acknowledged Chalamet in his opening monologue, quipping, “Love that suit, you won’t be getting any flat tires tonight. Stay safe!” Later, Adam Sandler made an entrance during O’Brien’s opening segment, donning his signature look: a hoodie paired with basketball shorts. The host jestingly ribbed Sandler for his casual attire, prompting the actor to exit the auditorium, but not without bidding a heartfelt farewell hug to Chalamet.
Sandler playfully exclaimed to the Wonka star, “Chalameeetttttt!” This was a humorous callback to their encounter at the Golden Globes earlier in January, where then-host Nikki Glaser had joked that Chalamet’s name sounded like something Sandler might utter.
Chalamet found himself nominated for Best Actor for the second time, this time for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Known. His previous nomination was in 2018 for his role in Luca Guadagnino’s Call Me by Your Name. Cillian Murphy, the previous year’s winner, took to the stage to announce this year’s Oscar recipient, who turned out to be Adrien Brody. Though Chalamet had recently won the SAG Award and delivered a memorable speech expressing his aspiration to join the ranks of the legends.
Throughout awards season, the Dune star paid homage to Bob Dylan by drawing inspiration from the legendary musician’s unique style, making his presence at every event all the more intriguing and memorable.
