Percy Jackson Star Walker Scobell Slams Fans Sending Death Threats to Potential Prom Dates

Published: Apr 14 2026

Walker Scobell is unequivocally announcing that he will not be bestowing a corsage upon anyone for the upcoming prom. The star of "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" has publicly called out so-called fans who have been sending death threats to teenage girls, assuming they might be associated with him due to their proximity to his residence. In a heartfelt move, Walker also took the opportunity to clarify his attendance status for the event.

"For the record, I will not be attending prom," Walker wrote in an Instagram Story on April 12. "Please cease sending death threats to every teenage girl who could potentially be linked to me based solely on where I reside." Without specifying any particular claims, Walker emphasized that it is "not fair" for the women in his life or their families to endure such behavior.

"Perhaps it's also a good idea to just stop sending death threats altogether," Walker continued. "That's not cool. It's peculiar that I have to say this."

Since assuming the title role in the Disney+ series in 2023, the 17-year-old has acknowledged that his life has transformed in ways he hadn't fully anticipated.

"I knew it was 'Percy Jackson,' and if there were a lot of people who loved it as much as I did, I thought, 'Yeah, maybe it would get pretty big,'" Walker explained in an interview with USA Today last year. "But I didn't think it would be this big so fast. It kind of just immediately became such a big thing and started affecting my life right away."

Recalling several instances where he was instantly recognized by fans, Walker admitted, "I don't know how to react to something like that—whether it's awesome or whether I should be scared."

Walker was just 13 when he was cast alongside Aryan Simhardri and Leah Jeffries in the TV adaptation of the beloved Rick Riordan book series, which wrapped filming its third season in March. Despite being upfront about the negative aspects of portraying such an iconic character, Walker has also emphasized that it's a dream come true.

"I love it every day," he said in an interview with Behind the Blinds in December. "We get to do all these amazing things, so I have no respect for people who complain all day. Even if you're not having a good time, joke about it."
