We are eagerly anticipating Natasha Lyonne's return to unravel yet more mysteries of murder (a much-needed respite indeed). Executive producer Rian Johnson announced via Instagram that the filming of Season 2 of Peacock's 'Poker Face' has officially commenced. Johnson captivated fans with a snapshot of a slate from the esteemed writer-director Tony Tost, who aptly captioned, "Commencing the first day of filming for Season 2 of 'Poker Face.' Truly, a dream come true to be a part of this beloved show's new chapter." (TVLine is in touch with Peacock to clarify Tost's specific role in Season 2.)

Starring Lyonne as the enigmatic Charlie Cale, 'Poker Face' follows Charlie's adventures as she traverses the nation, using her uncanny gift of discerning truth from lies to solve baffling murders. Each week, Charlie embarks on a fresh case, reminiscent of the classic detective shows like 'Columbo' and 'The Rockford Files.' Season 1 boasted an impressive roster of guest stars including Adrien Brody, Chloe Sevigny, Nick Nolte, Judith Light, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Barkin, and many more, garnering four Emmy nominations, including one for Lyonne's outstanding performance as the lead actress in a comedy series.

In the thrilling Season 1 finale, which aired in March 2023, Charlie was once again on the run after receiving a menacing phone call from the ominous casino owner Beatrix Hasp, voiced by Rhea Perlman. (Catch up on our exclusive postmortem interview with co-showrunners Nora and Lilla Zuckerman.) Peacock promptly renewed the series for Season 2, but fans are still awaiting the official premiere date with bated breath.
