According to the press release, East Hampton Town Police responded to the scene after a distressed caller, who stumbled upon the 33-year-old's body, dialed 911 around midnight. Despite immediate CPR efforts administered by authorities, the designer was pronounced deceased at the location.

The Montauk Yacht Club, nestled on a sprawling 16-acre waterfront estate, underscored its dedication to assisting officials in the inquiry. A spokesperson for the club told CBS News, "We are deeply saddened by this tragic event. Our team is actively collaborating with law enforcement in their ongoing investigation and remains steadfastly committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of our guests and staff."

Nolan-O'Slatarra was a familiar face in the Hamptons, where her brand East x East—specializing in swimsuits, resort wear, and accessories—had set up its seasonal pop-up shop at Gurney's Montauk Resort and Seawater Spa, situated six miles from the marina. For the Manhattan-based, Ireland-born entrepreneur, her company served as a tribute to her unwavering love for summer.

"Our tagline is 'built in the city, made for the sun,'" she shared in a TikTok video last April, her enthusiasm palpable. "I believe it resonates with countless individuals on various levels because, at some point, everyone is hustling, yet everyone is bound for the sun. I know I am, and chances are, so is just about everyone else. It just felt so right."
