Addressing her moniker, the "Birds of a Feather" crooner confessed that as a child, she harbored embarrassment over her first name, believing it to be exclusively masculine. "I used to think Billie was strictly a boy's name," Eilish reminisced. "I recall feeling incredibly upset, yearning for a name that embodied femininity, perhaps something like Violet or Lavender—a pretty, flowery name that suited my dreams."
Eilish, whose full title is Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell, is named in honor of her late grandfather, William, whom she never had the privilege of meeting. "Shortly before my arrival into this world, my grandfather passed away. He was known as William, or Bill, or Billie—thus, the inspiration behind my name," she explained.
Interestingly, over the years, Eilish has transformed her perception of her name, embracing it with unwavering affection. "In the vast expanse of the universe, there is no other name that could be mine but Billie," she asserted. "I adore my name beyond measure.
