Hailee Steinfeld will forever hold a special place in her Sinners family. Although the "Capital Letters" singer was absent from the 98th Academy Awards on March 15, she expressed her support for the movie's cast and crew through several Instagram stories. This included her costar Michael B. Jordan, the writer and director Ryan Coogler, and the cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw, all of whom took home Oscars.

In her stories, the 29-year-old, who is currently pregnant with her and husband Josh Allen's first baby, showed her support for Ludwig Goransson, who won Best Original Score for composing the Sinners soundtrack. She also shared moments from the evening with Ryan's wife Zinzi Coogler, who co-produced the film, as well as Misty Copeland, who performed a ballet routine inspired by the film's dance sequences.
While Hailee was not present at the Oscars ceremony, her costar and friend Michael gave her a shoutout upon winning Best Actor. He said: "I would like to thank my incredible cast. Wunmi, thank you so much for giving Smoke the opportunity to be him. Hailee at home, she's getting ready to have a baby right now, thank you so much for being the other half of Stack."
Hailee has also emphasized how much being part of Ryan's film meant to her. "I feel more inspired than ever after Sinners," she told the New York Times in January. "This movie was like a door I've been knocking on for a while in terms of what it gave me the opportunity to accomplish as an actor." And of course, it gave her the chance to work with an incredible cast, including Michael.
"He has such an inviting energy," Hailee said of working with her costar. "He really set the tone on this set for all of us to feel safe and make bold choices without being afraid to be vulnerable or make mistakes." In her words, "He's a good time."
