TVLine has confirmed with Disney Channel that the intriguing live-action series, "Pretty Freekin Scary," will not be gracing our screens for a second season. Rumors about its untimely demise had been circulating for months, initially sparked by streaming analyst Drew Ryan's social media posts, and later bolstered by heartfelt Instagram comments from cast member Eliana Su'a.

'Pretty Freekin Scary' Cancelled: No Season 2 for Disney Channel Series 1

The final episode of the first season, which aired in August 2023, saw Frankie Ripp (portrayed by Su'a, also known for her role in '9-1-1') navigating the challenges of middle school life, all while dealing with the aftermath of a fateful accident. According to the official synopsis, Frankie, after a heated debate with the Grim Reaper herself in the Underworld, is compelled to traverse her new existence with her unusual guardians, Pretty and Scary.

Joining Su'a in this thrilling children's horror series were Kyan Samuels ('Game Shakers') as Pretty, Leah Mei Gold ('The Casagrandes') as Scary, Yonas Kibreab ('Sweet Tooth') as Remy, and Emma Shannon ('The Righteous Gemstones') as Nyx.

"Pretty Freekin Scary" marks one of several Disney Channel shows that have bid farewell in the past year. The camping comedy "Bunk'd," a spin-off of "Jessie," will conclude its seven-season run with its final episodes airing on July 5. TVLine had previously reported that "Saturdays" would not be skating into a second season. Furthermore, the mysteries of "Secrets of Sulphur Springs" will remain unsolved, following its cancellation after three seasons.

On a bittersweet note, the sequel series to the beloved "That's So Raven," titled "Raven's Home," will also not return for its potential seventh season. However, Disney Channel is developing a spin-off titled "Alice in the Palace," which will see the character Alice (played by Mykal-Michelle Harris) return to England to reunite with her doppelgänger, Duchess Clementine. Harris will take on both roles, promising a captivating new adventure.
