Pretty Little Liars Stars Want Reunion Show or Movie

It's no hidden fact: The cast of "Pretty Little Liars" is eager for a reunion. However, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, and Sasha Pieterse each envision a revival of the beloved Freeform drama in their unique ways.

"It should be a film, as I doubt it could support another season," Troian revealed to The Hollywood Reporter in an interview with her former costars published on June 20. "But it would undoubtedly be fascinating to catch up with these characters."

The 39-year-old continued, speaking of the iconic quintet, "We hold them dear to our hearts. They were an integral part of our lives for seven years, and now they've been absent for another seven. Hence, it's the ideal moment to see where they stand now."

Similarly, Sasha, 29, remains "perpetually open" to bringing the Liars back together. "I cherish everyone we worked with," she expressed. "Imagining what our characters' lives would be like if we reunited is an intriguing thought experiment."

This sentiment was echoed by Shay, 38, who admitted, "I can't picture it without my girls." "It would be adorable if we all agreed to do it," she told THR. "I'd be all in for that. They know that. It has to be a collective endeavor."

Ashley, however, had a slightly unconventional request. "Maybe Hanna could finally be 'A,'" the 35-year-old joked, referencing the enigmatic figure who haunted the girls for seven seasons from 2010 to 2017. "I'll do it if she gets to be 'A.'"

Meanwhile, Lucy, in an earlier interview with E! News, had enthusiastically expressed her openness to a reunion, saying, "Now that I've distanced myself from it, I cherish it even more," the 36-year-old confided, playfully adding that if the reunion were to take place in the style of a "Real Housewives of Rosewood" reality show, "it would be absolutely hilarious."

Even showrunner I. Marlene King is on board, sharing with THR in the cast interview that she's fond of "the notion of perhaps crafting a movie or a limited 10-episode return to Rosewood."

"I'd need to come up with a brilliant idea to bring everyone back and decide where we'd take it," she noted. "Enough time has passed that we could incorporate more lived experiences for those characters, making it similar yet different."

Especially since Marlene mentioned that a potential "PLL" movie, initially intended as "the bridge between season six A and B," was scrapped years ago.

"It was due to business reasons," she explained about its demise. "It would've been truly enjoyable."

Considering this, both Tyler Blackburn and Ian Harding expressed a preference for a movie over a limited series.

"If it were a PG-13 film, we could make it more intense, gory, gruesome, or sexy," Tyler, 38, observed, suggesting that the original series could've been "really badass if it wasn't on a family network."

Ian, also 38, added, "I'd love to see where those characters are now, but it also hinges on the script, story, and who's involved. So, yes, I'm very open to it. And if it doesn't materialize into a movie, I think I'd be okay with where it left off."
