The model and art curator, Racquel Chevremont, is set to become the Bravo franchise's second openly queer cast member, marking a significant milestone. Joining the illustrious ranks of The Real Housewives of New York City for its fifteenth season, Chevremont will bring her unique voice and perspective to the show.

Bravo has officially announced that Chevremont will join the previously announced cast of Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, and Brynn Whitfield as a full-fledged member. Additionally, Rebecca Minkoff will also be joining the cast in a friendly role, adding even more star power to the mix.

As production for RHONY continues, Chevremont's inclusion represents a significant step forward in representation. An art curator and model with a rich background, Chevremont began her modeling career in the '90s, lending her image to brands such as Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, Fila, L'Oréal, and Nivea. Her curation skills have also been showcased in film and TV projects like Severance, Empire, and And Just Like That.

Chevremont's addition to the cast is particularly meaningful, as she follows in the footsteps of Jenna Lyons, who made her debut on the show last season during a cast reboot. "My entire adult life has been about representation and using whatever platform I have to amplify the voices of queer people from diverse backgrounds," Chevremont told GLAAD. "There's no better way to do that than as a part of this iconic franchise."

Her inclusion in the cast signifies not just a milestone for queer representation but also a powerful reminder that queer women can achieve success, beauty, and loving relationships while raising children. Chevremont's presence on the show will offer viewers a more intimate glimpse into the lives of queer families, highlighting the similarities that unite us all.

After a tumultuous season 13 that was marred by allegations of racism, Bravo took swift action to reboot the cast, introducing a new set of housewives in 2022. Now, with the rookie cast set to remain for season 15, the franchise continues its journey towards a more inclusive and representative future. As Andy Cohen, the executive producer of The Real Housewives, recently said in his cover story with The Hollywood Reporter, "Bravo has made it a mandate to diversify its shows, and they've done it with remarkable success."
