Set to premiere on the fateful "Judgement Day," August 29, 2024, this Netflix anime series from Mattson Tomlin will clash with 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' on Amazon Prime Video. Meanwhile, Sonoya Mizuno brings to life Eiko, a resistance fighter dispatched to the past with the sole mission of preventing Malcolm from activating Kokoro.

Rounding out the voice cast is Ann Dowd as The Prophet, a philosophical beacon for the human resistance, guiding survivors through the darkness of an uncertain future.

According to the producers' synopsis, 'Terminator Zero' is set in 2022, where a relentless war has been raging for decades between the few remaining human survivors and an unending army of machines, and 1997, when the AI known as Skynet gains self-awareness and unleashes its war against humanity. "Caught in the crossfire between the future and this tumultuous past, a soldier is sent back in time to safeguard humanity's destiny. She arrives in 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee, who is striving to create a new AI system that could rival Skynet's imminent assault on humanity. As Malcolm grapples with the ethical dilemmas surrounding his creation, he becomes the target of a relentless assassin from the future, whose actions irrevocably alter the fates of his three children," the synopsis reveals.
