According to TMZ, the renowned American R&B singer is being sued by AmEx for defaulting on tens of thousands of dollars and breaching his contract. In the legal documents obtained by the outlet, American Express has requested a judge to award the company $78,704.56, as he has yet to settle the outstanding balance on a credit card.
Furthermore, AmEx has also sued Rajun Cajun Inc. due to its business ties with Ray J; however, it remains unclear how the corporation is linked to him. According to insiders close to the "Another Day in Paradise" crooner, he is actively planning to clear the debt. It is noteworthy to mention that Ray J has a history of missed payments, and American Express has dragged him into court several times before. In December of last year, he was accused of owing the company $139,849.85, and his company, Tronix Network, was also dragged into the legal battle.
This lawsuit comes amidst Ray J's ongoing legal battle against Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, which began after his intimate tape was deliberately released by the SKIMS founder and her family in 2025.
