Don't swallow everything you read about Kelsey Swanson hook, line, and sinker. The star of "The Real Housewives of Rhode Island" spoke out after a report surfaced, alleging that she was a sex worker long before her debut on the Bravo series. The report, shared on Instagram on April 4th, claimed that Kelsey, 31, was listed as an escort known as Alexia Lins on a now-defunct website in March 2016, with rates ranging from $500 to $2,900 for various services. However, the former Miss Rhode Island was quick to dismiss the accusation, insisting that there was no truth to the matter.
"Had to comment on this one," she wrote in response to the post. "Never have been an escort. Pages were completely made up 10 years ago. State police were involved. Thanks for sharing tho."
While Kelsey was happy to clear up misconceptions about her past, she's also offered viewers an inside look at her current way of life on the latest iteration of the "Real Housewives" franchise, including her decade-long romance with an unidentified multimillionaire.
"My relationship is very unorthodox," she explained in a confessional during the April 2 series premiere. "This man dates multiple people. For the first half of the year, my man is in Miami and, when he's in Miami, he's with somebody else."
And while Kelsey admitted that the arrangement wouldn't necessarily be her first choice, she was reluctant to walk away from the lavish lifestyle her mystery man provides.
"I want to be in a committed relationship with one person, but at this stage in his life, there's not one thing he's going to change," she shared. "He is who he is, and either I accept it or I have to leave."
But Kelsey's boyfriend doesn't appear to be her only leading man.
"The two people in my life are the most wonderful people ever," she declared in a preview for the rest of season one, prompting her costar Rosie DiMare to respond, "Now you're saying that you do have two boyfriends. Like, what?!"
