Regina Hall has recently recounted her working experience alongside Titanic heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio in her upcoming film, One Battle After Another. While promoting her collaboration with Bounty, the Scary Movie 2 star confided in PEOPLE about her time on set with the Inception actor.
"It was nothing short of mesmerizing," said the 54-year-old actress, reminiscing about her rapport with DiCaprio. Furthermore, Regina heaped praise on her director, Paul Thomas Anderson, revealing herself to be a "devoted admirer" of the acclaimed screenwriter and director. "I was absolutely thrilled to be part of a film he was helming," exclaimed the Girls Trip star.
The Best Man actress shared that while perusing the script, she was "overwhelmingly curious." "What kind of movie is this?" she pondered. "It's filled with peals of laughter, potent messages, humor, and wit," she elaborated.
For those unaware, the latest cinematic venture is reportedly inspired by Thomas Pynchon's 1990 novel, Vineland, and is being produced by Warner Bros. According to the film's narrative, One Battle After Another revolves around "a cohort of former revolutionaries who reconvene to confront an adversary who has resurfaced after 16 years."
Elsewhere in the interview, Regina waxed lyrical about the star-studded cast, which boasts the likes of Benicio del Toro, Teyana Taylor, Sean Penn, Alana Haim, Chase Infiniti, Wood Harris, and more. "The cast, I adored," mentioned the actress, describing them as "an exceptional group." "I have immense respect for Leo, Benicio, Sean Penn, and Teyana is extraordinary," she continued.
Before wrapping up, Regina raved about Paul, asserting that "not a single part is insignificant" in his films. "Regardless of whether they have just one line, he approaches filmmaking with such meticulousness. And I'm eagerly anticipating audiences experiencing it firsthand," added the actress.
Meanwhile, One Battle After Another is slated to hit theaters on September 26.
