Jackson, a former assistant head deputy for the major crimes division in the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, has a formidable track record. He recently secured an acquittal for Karen Read in her retrial for second-degree murder and manslaughter charges, and has represented high-profile clients such as Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey in their sexual assault trials. As a seasoned prosecutor, Jackson also secured a murder conviction for music legend Phil Spector.

Nick Reiner, the son of the esteemed Hollywood director and his wife Michele, was taken into custody on Sunday and is currently being held without bail. The Los Angeles Police Department declared on Monday that Nick Reiner was responsible for the homicide deaths of his parents. "As a result of the initial investigation, it was determined that the Reiners were the victims of homicide," the LAPD stated in a press release. "The investigation further revealed that Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of Robert and Michele Reiner, was responsible for their deaths."

The iconic filmmaker Rob Reiner, 78, and his wife Michele, 70, were found dead in their L.A. home on Chadbourne Avenue. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the couple suffered "lacerations consistent with a knife," and there were no signs of forced entry. Nick Reiner was an early suspect in the case, having battled drug addiction and homelessness, with more than a dozen stints in rehab. He even co-wrote a film loosely based on his life, Being Charlie (2015), directed by his father.

The Hollywood Reporter reached out to Jackson's legal firm, Werksman, Jackson & Quinn LLP, for additional comment on Jackson's representation of Nick Reiner.
