"In the late '70s and early '80s, while it was undoubtedly dangerous, there was a sense that the competition wasn't as fierce that you didn't have to bother trying. Nowadays, however, people can become celebrities without ever doing much more than holding a phone to themselves."

The 61-year-old actor further emphasized his perspective: "I don't view this as a negative thing. Instead, I see it as a heightened challenge for individuality." He continued, "I hope that the majority of young people in America, for the sake of this discussion, will say, 'Yeah, but that's not for me. I want to do something, create something, build something, educate myself, and have more inputs so that whatever my output is, it's not just a self-aggrandizing influencer-type thing."

When asked about the notion that future stars would be influencers, Robert added with conviction, "I don't know what world you're living in, but I think that's absolute nonsense." The Oscar-winning actor currently boasts 58.1 million followers on Instagram.
