Robin Wright, the esteemed actress known for her role in "Forrest Gump," is contemplating her journey as a parent. In a heartfelt revelation, she shared with The Times of London on August 30th that if she could turn back the clock, there is one aspect of her parenting style she would alter concerning her children, Dylan Penn, 34, and Hopper Penn, 32, whom she co-parented with her ex-husband, Sean Penn.

"As a mother, I harbor a profound regret that has resonated with my children for years," she confessed. "I wasn't stringent enough with them."

Robin, now 59, and Sean, 65, tied the knot in 1996 after welcoming their children into the world and eventually divorced in 2010. While Robin characterized Sean as the stricter parent, she acknowledged that his acting commitments often kept him away from home.

"He'd return to enforce discipline and then be gone again, leaving me to deal with the aftermath," she elaborated. "I would soften the blow, essentially balancing out his sternness. Between the two of us, they never experienced that crucial middle ground—a blend of firmness and understanding that they desperately needed."

Robin's anxieties intensified as her children navigated their own struggles, notably Hopper's battle with crystal meth, which he bravely disclosed in an interview with ES Magazine in 2017. "Every phone call was a moment of dread—wondering if they were still alive," Robin recounted. "I endured this anxiety for countless years, concerning both of them."

Fortunately, Robin noted with relief, "They are both thriving in exceptional places right now."

Both Dylan and Hopper have embarked on acting careers, following in their parents' footsteps both collaboratively and independently. Despite their Hollywood heritage, Hopper has previously distanced himself from the "nepo baby" discourse.

"If you appreciate it, cool. If not, that's great too," he told E! News in February 2023. "And if you think nepotism plays a role, I honestly don't give it much thought because I'm committed to approaching my work with the same professionalism as anyone else."
