Rosie O'Donnell Says Her New Facelift Cost More Money Than a Car

Rosie O'Donnell can hardly fathom the reality of her recent facelift. The beloved comedian revealed her decision to undergo the procedure in January of this year—and it certainly wasn't a cheap endeavor. As she shared in a May 25 Substack post, "It cost more money than I have ever paid for a car."

Her hesitation about going under the knife was not merely financial; it was deeply rooted in her personal beliefs. Rosie, who once held a strong moral stance against facelifts, wrote, "I had assigned myself as the head of all women who would never—ever consider it."

"I thought it was a betrayal," she continued. "Of feminism. Of aging. Of our team of women worldwide." But as the 64-year-old shed 50 pounds, she found her face looking like it was "melting with intention."

Despite her efforts to be more accepting, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. "There's a point where acceptance starts to feel like lying," she admitted. Finally, she decided to go under the knife.

However, to her surprise, "no one has noticed." From friends to strangers, and even her own children—including the one who had previously told her they "wouldn't be able to respect" her if she had a facelift—no one seemed to have taken notice of her new look.

But as Rosie explained when she finally came to the decision, "If I'm teaching Clay anything, it can't be that my body belongs to an idea, even a good one—even feminism."

"Because that's still not freedom," she continued. "That's just a different authority telling you what you're allowed to do with your own face."

As for why the former talk show host decided to openly discuss her facelift now? She said she never liked secrets and wanted to "use my voice whenever I feel called to."

"For the girl I was. The woman I am. And all those joining my ranks. As we carry on in act 3," she concluded. "This is me."
