Rufus Sewell, Louis Partridge, Fiona Shaw, Daryl McCormack Join ‘Pride and Prejudice,’ Netflix Releases First Look

Rufus Sewell, Louis Partridge, Fiona Shaw, and Daryl McCormack have joined the prestigious ensemble of Netflix's upcoming adaptation of "Pride and Prejudice," marking a significant addition to the UK's acting elite in this highly anticipated series. According to the streaming giant, production is now in full swing across the UK, with Dolly Alderton, the acclaimed producer-writer behind "Everything I Know About Love," attached to the project. Euros Lyn, renowned for his work on "Heartstopper," will helm the series, promising viewers a "faithful and timeless interpretation" of Jane Austen's beloved novel, Netflix enthused.

On Tuesday, the platform offered a tantalizing glimpse of the Bennet sisters. Sewell, known for his roles in "The Diplomat" and "Scoop," will star as the adored Mr. Bennet, while Partridge, who captivated audiences in "Disclaimer" and "Enola Holmes," will embody Mr. Wickham, Darcy's arch-nemesis. Fiona Shaw, a Harry Potter veteran, will portray the formidable Lady Catherine de Bourg, and McCormack, seen in "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery" and "Good Luck to You, Leo Grande," will bring Mr. Bingley to life.

Elsewhere, Jamie Demetriou, fresh from his role in "Barbie," will channel the pomposity of Mr. Collins. Freya Mavor ("Industry") will star as Jane Bennet, with Rhea Norwood ("Heartstopper") taking on the role of Lydia Bennet. Siena Killy, of "Black Mirror" fame, will play Caroline Bingley. Making their screen debuts, Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery will portray Mary and Kitty Bennet, respectively.

Sewell will shine as the cherished Mr. Bennet, while the Bennet sisterhood will be beautifully realized with Mavor as Jane, Norwood as Lydia, and newcomers Parish and Avery stealing hearts as Kitty and Mary in their debut roles. Partridge will breathe life into Mr. Wickham, Demetriou will add his unique twist to Mr. Collins, and Shaw will command the screen as Lady Catherine de Bourg. They join the previously announced Olivia Colman, Jack Lowden, and Emma Corrin in this star-studded cast.

Rounding out the ensemble are Anjana Vasan as Mrs. Gardiner, Sebastian Armesto as Mr. Gardiner, Rosie Cavaliero as Lady Lucas, Saffron Coomber as Mrs. Hurst, James Dryden as Mr. Hurst, Justin Edwards as Sir William Lucas, James Northcote as Colonel Forster, Eloise Webb as Harriet Forster, and Isabella Sermon as Georgiana Darcy.
