Despite being bound by secrecy from Marvel Studios, Sadie Sink confesses that there's sometimes a grain of truth in the online fan theories. The actress, who will be starring in Spider-Man: Brand New Day in an undisclosed role, admitted that "it's torture" not being able to reveal her character to the world in the fourth installment of the Marvel Studios franchise.

"There's so much speculation, it feels like a new character is introduced every week," she said during an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. "I tell people I know, but I often find out through online theories. For instance, there was speculation online that said, 'Sadie Sink is going to be in the new Spider-Man.' I thought, 'Hmm? Me? And sure enough, two days later, they asked me to do it. So yeah, those theories sometimes hold some truth."
Although many have speculated that Sink will play fellow redhead Mary Jane Watson, the Stranger Things alum had previously played coy about the theory. "A lot of people forget that hair color can change, but yes, I understand all the theories," she told Entertainment Weekly. Deadline reported in March that Sink was set to star in the upcoming Spidey film. Additionally, Liza Colón-Zayas joins the cast in an undisclosed role.
After filming began in Glasgow, Scotland in August, Spider-Man: Brand New Day director Destin Daniel Cretton announced last month that filming had wrapped up ahead of the scheduled July 31 premiere date.
