For the past two seasons, the charming actress has graced the screens of Peacock's popular dating competition series, Love Island USA. However, Sarah Hyland revealed in a heartfelt Instagram Story post on Wednesday that she will not be reprising her role as the host for the upcoming sixth season.

In a candid message, Hyland alluded to the show's unique communication style, writing, "Well, just got a text." She continued, expressing her disappointment in the manner the news had to break but confirming, "it is in fact true that I will not be returning to the island this summer."

Elaborating further, Hyland shared, "I have committed to an exciting project that will be announced soon, which unfortunately conflicts directly with the shooting dates for Love Island USA." Despite her sadness about not returning, she expressed her hope for the show, saying, "I hope to see lots of love this summer on Peacock this upcoming season!"

Hyland first joined the Love Island USA family in 2022 for its fourth season, marking a significant transition for the series as it moved from CBS to Peacock. Prior to Hyland's tenure, Arielle Vandenberg graced the screens for three seasons since the U.S. version premiered in 2019.

Last year, the show's executive producer, Simon Thomas, gushed about Hyland's presence as host, stating that it was "fantastic" having her on board. He praised her natural charm and likability, adding that the contestants looked up to her. "She's just a joy," he concluded.

In November, Peacock announced the renewal of Love Island USA — which the streamer hailed as its top-rated original reality series — for two more seasons. However, the identity of Hyland's successor remains a mystery as THR has reached out to Peacock for comment and to learn who will be taking the helm for the upcoming season.
