"My best friend, Amanda Peet—it's the weirdest thing in the world to say her full name out loud, as I affectionately call her Bird. But that's the name her parents bestowed upon her," Sarah wrote alongside a screenshot of Amanda's essay. She further elaborated, "It seems fitting to share it here as she has penned a heart-wrenching and beautifully crafted essay about the loss of her parents, all while navigating a breast cancer diagnosis. The @newyorkermag has just published it today, and I'm overjoyed and want to shout it from the rooftops."
"I hope you all take the time to read it," Sarah continued. "If you're too busy with other things, I've done an audio recording, and you can listen to me trying to do it justice."
