Scheana Shay is finally opening up about the reasons behind her silence regarding her husband, Brock Davies' infidelity. Just days before an excerpt from her forthcoming memoir, "My Good Side," was published, shedding light on Davies' confession of cheating on her, the reality TV star delved into why she had held back certain aspects of her life until now.
During the July 4th episode of her "Scheananigans" podcast, when asked about the "biggest shock" from her new book, Shay, 40, hinted at "a couple of moments that will truly astonish people." She further elaborated, "There's a myriad of stories about my past, my family, and my early life experiences that I believe will shock the readers. People may think they know everything about me, but after reading this book, they'll realize they don't. I assure you of that."
She noted that fans only see "a facet of me from reality TV, a glimpse from my podcast, my YouTube. When you combine all that, you might have, let's say, 80% of me, but the book will fill in the rest."
While seemingly referring to the affair revelation, she continued, "There are some matters I haven't been entirely forthcoming about, or perhaps never corrected the narrative surrounding them." She shared, "I never shared my side of the story because I was afraid. I feared that if I told people what I was actually going through, they would think I was trying to divert attention away from someone else's struggles and make it about me."
The television personality admitted that this "perception of me" had held her back "from opening up on the show or on the podcast at times, because everyone always claims, 'Oh, you make everything about you.'"
However, "My Good Side" presented Shay with an unparalleled chance to narrate her story unfiltered. She said, "In my book, I get to make it about me. You'll hear the parts of my story that I've never shared before, in my own words, with me controlling the narrative for once."
One of these revelations is Shay candidly recounting how she learned about her husband's affair amidst rumors that he had slept with her former costar, Rachel Leviss, following her own cheating scandal with Tom Sandoval in 2023.
"I was frozen in shock as he confessed that he had cheated on me two years prior, when we were living in San Diego during the pandemic, and I was pregnant with Summer," Shay revealed in an excerpt published by Glamour on July 10th, adding that she felt "utterly nauseated."
She recounted Davies saying that "at the time, he was terrified of becoming a father again, questioning whether he even deserved to be one, and chose to cope with it by sleeping with someone else." She emphasized, "I use the word 'chose' because it was a deliberate decision. No one forced him."
Shay noted that Davies had encountered the woman, "whom he had known before we met," outside his gym, F45 Training East Hillcrest in San Diego. "After reconnecting, they embarked on a brief affair," she added.
Davies and Shay welcomed their daughter, Summer Moon, in April 2021 and tied the knot in Cancun in August 2022.
Following the headline-grabbing cheating scandal involving Sandoval and Leviss, Shay admitted that she "obviously" inquired if Davies had crossed the line with the former pageant queen.
"I absolutely questioned him because after all the Tom and Raquel stuff, which I didn't believe, I had to ask," she said on an episode of "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" in April 2023. "He said, 'Absolutely not,' but I followed up by asking, 'Did she ever try?' Despite trusting my husband, I don't trust [Leviss]," she continued. "He said no. He said he never reciprocated her advances, and we know Sandoval did."
"My Good Side" hits shelves on July 22th and is now available for preorder wherever books are sold.
