Scott Wolf has openly reflected on the recent dissolution of his marriage. Just hours after his wife of over two decades, Kelley Wolf, announced the end of their union on June 10th, the former 'Party of Five' star broke his silence, revealing that he was the one who initiated the divorce proceedings.
In a June 10th statement to People, Scott, who shares children Jackson, 16, Miller, 12, and Lucy, 11, with Kelley, shared, "After 21 years of marital bliss, I have made the hardest decision of my life and filed for divorce from my wife, Kelley. Our kids have always been, and will continue to be, the loves of our lives and our utmost priority. Therefore, I humbly request privacy during this delicate time as we navigate them through this fresh chapter."
Echoing Kelley's poignant announcement of their "marital dissolution" on Instagram, Scott's sentiments mirrored her own. "This journey has been a lengthy and silent one for me, rooted deeply in hope, patience, and an unwavering commitment to our children," Kelley penned. "While I refrain from disclosing specific details publicly, I find peace in knowing I have approached this path with integrity and compassion."
Praising Scott as "one of the finest fathers" and "best partners," the 'Real World: New Orleans' alum emphasized that their primary focus in this new phase of their lives would remain their cherished children. "We both eagerly anticipate an extraordinary future centered around our incredible kids," Kelley continued. "My paramount concern has always been their wellbeing, and my own healing journey. This will remain steadfast."
A year prior to their separation announcement, Kelley had hinted at her "healing journey" while reminiscing about a challenging yet formative moment from the early days of her relationship with Scott, on the occasion of their 20th wedding anniversary. "I declared, 'I love you. I love you more than I have ever loved anyone. I almost loved you enough to neglect myself. But I recalled that nothing in life endures if I leave myself behind,'" she recounted in a May 2024 Instagram post. "Turning around, I approached the door, ready to walk away, just as I had done numerous times before, ready to abandon the girl I vowed to protect."
However, Scott expressed his willingness to "confront the arduous and uncomfortable aspects" of their relationship, working tirelessly to strengthen their bond, ultimately prompting Kelley to declare, "You could not find two souls more intertwined, more aligned, and more certain of the promises we were about to make to each other."
"There is one lesson we both learned that day: to truly love another with all your heart, you must first love yourself the most," she continued. "And indeed, like all legendary love stories, we continue to embrace the power of love, time and again."
