**Scream 8** is in the works at Spyglass, so brace yourselves for another encounter with Ghostface – or even more! The Zuckerman sisters, Lilla and Nora, are set to pen the eighth installment of the enduring slasher franchise created by Kevin Williamson, as confirmed by **The Hollywood Reporter**.
The Zuckerman sisters previously served as showrunners for season one of Peacock's **Poker Face**, starring Natasha Lyonne. They've also worked as writers and executive producers on series such as **Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Suits, Fringe**, and **Prodigal Son**.
The development comes after the success of **Scream 7**, released on Feb. 27, which became the highest-grossing film in the franchise, earning over $200 million worldwide. It was also the first installment to be released in Imax theaters. **Scream 7** marked the return of Williamson, who took the director's chair. The film also saw the return of its final girl, Neve Campbell – who didn't appear in **Scream VI** due to salary disputes – and her teenage daughter Tatum (Isabel May), who is targeted by Ghostface. The screenplay was co-written by Williamson and Guy Busick (from **Ready or Not** films and **Abigail**).
Earlier this month, Williamson made headlines saying he likely won’t direct **Scream 8**. “For the next **Scream**, I’ll probably step back and just be a part of the family again,” he told **Hello Sidney**. Shortly after the film premiered, Anna Camp, who appeared in **Scream 7**, told **THR** she'd heard whispers about another installment. When asked, she said: “Just rumors, just rumors. I haven’t heard from anyone specifically that I worked with, like Kevin or Neve, but I’ve heard the rumors going around that there’s a **Scream 8**.”
