Sean Penn was in the spotlight once again, as he enjoyed a low-key date in Santa Monica, California, with his girlfriend Valeria Nicov, just three days after attending the 2026 Golden Globes. The two-time Oscar winner and the model, who made their red carpet debut at the Marrakech International Film Festival in November 2024, walked hand-in-hand during their Jan. 14 excursion.
Sean, 65, looked effortlessly chic in a navy jacket paired with a white long-sleeved button-down shirt, gray pants, and white sneakers. Meanwhile, Valeria, 30, wore an all-black ensemble that included a peacoat, joggers, and tennis shoes. This casual outing was a rare sight for the couple, who aren't often seen together in public.
Interestingly, Valeria was not by Sean's side at the Golden Globes earlier in the week. He was nominated for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture but ultimately lost to Stellan Skarsgård. However, that didn't dampen Sean's spirits. In fact, he was seen laughing at the jokes that host Nikki Glaser made at his expense.
"Everyone in this town is obsessed with looking younger, but Sean Penn is like, 'What if I slowly morph into a sexy leather handbag?'" the comedian quipped. The camera then showed Sean laughing and nodding in his seat. "It's hot. It's good," Nikki added.
The host also highlighted Sean's work as a "devoted humanitarian" around the world. "I feel like a lot of actors talk the talk, but Sean Penn will actually go to the places in the world that need help the most and he will do cocaine there," she continued, prompting more chuckles from the audience. "Sean, I did get permission to do that joke from your two best friends Charlie Sheen and El Chapo."
While Nikki had hilarious zingers and crowd-pleasing moments during her monologue, she later revealed that there were other jokes about Sean that didn't make the final cut. "Sean Penn is nominated tonight, I’m assuming for Best Neck Veins," she read from her list on the Jan. 13 episode of The Howard Stern Show, before adding another. "Sean Penn is here looking like the defiant last tree standing in a rainforest."
