"I am his godmother!" she exclaimed in an interview published on January 15th. "He hails from Romania, from the same hometown I grew up in. His mother has been my friend since we were in the fifth grade."
The 68-year-old beauty mogul went on to lavish praise on the "Sharper" actor, noting that they've maintained their bond ever since leaving Constanta, Romania decades ago. "He's an amazing person and such a talent," she shared. "I love him. His mom lives in New York, but we see each other when she visits here."
Indeed, Sebastian has a special bond with his mother, Georgeta Orlovsch, who immigrated to the United States with her son from Romania in the 1990s. He even brought her as his date to the 2025 Academy Awards, where he received his first Oscar nomination for his performance in "The Apprentice."
"It's surreal," the 43-year-old told E! News at the time. "I'm just so happy to be here with her because you never really think this is going to happen. You watch it on TV and grow up with Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino, and Denzel [Washington] and all these people, so the fact that we're here is amazing."
He added, "It's been a long time coming, but I had to have her here with me." For his part, Georgeta couldn't help but praise her son on his big night. "He works very hard, so he deserves the best," she shared. "And I couldn't be more proud. He's adorable."
While she took great pride in her son's accomplishments, there was one thing that she didn't quite approve of. "She was very upset I didn't shave tonight," Sebastian shared at the time. "So when I told her I couldn't because I have to do this other role—she preferred I didn't have the beard."
