Transforming dental crowns into a new narrative, Miss Grand Thailand contestant Kamolwan Chanago stunned the audience when her veneers unexpectedly slipped during her speech in the pageant's preliminary round on March 25th. As a livestream video reveals, the 18-year-old was in the midst of introducing herself on stage when the dental laminates of her upper teeth suddenly became loose. Struggling visibly to articulate with her mouthful of loose veneers, Kamolwan tactfully turned away from the camera to re-adjust her teeth.

Yet, like a seasoned professional, she continued with poise, sashaying down the catwalk in her shimmering evening gown. As one of the 77 contestants vying for the crown, Kamolwan even flashed a dazzling, toothy smile as she spun around, flipping her fur shawl in the air before gracefully exiting the stage.
While the Pathum Thani native has not publicly commented on the incident, organizers of the event praised her for handling the situation "with professionalism and composure." A spokesperson for Miss Grand International told People, "During her on-stage introduction, Kamolwan Chanago experienced a minor and unexpected incident where her veneer teeth became dislodged. We are proud of her confidence and stage presence throughout the competition." The spokesperson added that the event "continued smoothly without disruption."
As for how Kamolwan fared in the competition, the grand finale will take place on March 28th, with the winner progressing to represent their country in the Miss Grand International pageant in India this October. However, she's not the only star to have suffered a dental mishap on stage. Just consider LeAnn Rimes, whose fake tooth fell out during a performance last year.
"I was on stage in the middle of 'One Way Ticket' [and] I feel something pop in my mouth," she recalled in a June Instagram video. "I've had a lot of dental surgeries, and I have a bridge in the front and it fell out in the middle of my song." While the Grammy winner admittedly "panicked," the show still went on. As she put it, she "ran to the side of the stage and popped it back in, and then just went on singing."
"I had to get real with everybody and tell them exactly what was happening," LeAnn added, "or else I would have had to walk off stage."
