Selena Gomez isn't shying away from baring her heartfelt fears. On February 13th, the singer premiered "Scared of Loving You," a poignant ballad from her forthcoming collaborative album with her fiancé, Benny Blanco. The lyrics of this tune offer a poignant window into her romantic trepidations. With her soon-to-be husband at the helm of production, she croons, "I'm not scared of loving you / I'm just scared of losing you," adding, "Cause how could they love you / As much as I do?"

The 32-year-old, who publicly announced her engagement to the 36-year-old Benny in December, also subtly references her past romantic endeavors, which have included high-profile relationships with Justin Bieber, Nick Jonas, and The Weeknd. The lyrics poignantly reveal, "When I was young I would love too fast. Hope I don’t repeat my past."

Just hours before the song's release, Selena and Benny tantalized fans with a teaser of their upcoming project on Instagram Stories, featuring a handwritten note that read, "I said I love you first." This tender message turned out to be the title of their joint album, set to be unleashed on March 21st. According to a press release, the album will chronicle their love story and delve into the promises of their shared future.

Despite the raw and vulnerable verses of "Scared of Loving You," Selena has repeatedly expressed her profound admiration for her partner, whom she began dating in 2023. In fact, she recently shared with The Hollywood Reporter why she feels comfortable revealing glimpses of their relationship to her fans online. "I guess this is the safest I’ve ever felt in one," she confessed, adding, "and I see a future with this person."

When it comes to safeguarding her privacy, however, the star of "Only Murders In the Building" knows her boundaries well. "There’s so much of my relationship people don’t see," she emphasized, "that’s just mine."

Similarly, Benny has emerged as Selena’s unwavering cheerleader. After accompanying his fiancée to the 2025 Golden Globes in January, he shared a behind-the-scenes TikTok video of her, captioning it, "I got to take home the best award of the night."
