Selena Gomez inadvertently embodied her own vision of euphoria. Indeed, the founder of 'Rare Beauty' recounted how Rihanna's iconic 2012 hit "Diamonds," co-produced by her husband Benny Blanco, ignited her AirDrop code. "I'll change it later, but I'll reveal it now," Selena teased during her March 4 appearance on her spouse's 'Friends Keep Secrets' podcast, revealing that her AirDrop messages were named 'Shine bright.' "That's it. The sole reason is because every song has a unique identifier, and it was, 'Shine bright like a diamond.'"

In fact, the 'Calm Down' singer noted that she used this name even before she knew she would fall in love with Benny, specifically years before they collaborated on her 2015 'Revival' singles "Same Old Love" and "Kill 'Em With Kindness." The couple also joined forces again on 2019's "I Can't Get Enough," four years before they publicly launched their romance on Instagram. While Selena will always cherish the connection she and the producer—who got married last September—have to "Diamonds," she's also enamored with other songs in Rihanna's catalogue that don't involve her husband.
"On 'Anti,' I love 'Consideration,'" she said on the podcast, which Benny co-hosts with Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco. "There's just something about her that's perfect."
"Diamonds" isn't the only hit that's defined a chapter in Selena's life. In fact, the 'Only Murders In the Building' actor admitted that she was the inspiration behind her close friend Taylor Swift's 'Evermore' track, "Dorothea."
"'Dorothea' is about me," Selena explained of the 2020 ballad, which is about a small town girl who moved to Hollywood to pursue her dreams. "I feel like many pivotal moments that defined me, from relationships to family to love to hate, we were figuring it out because I was 15 and she was 18. We didn't really know what was going on. We've never seen each other differently. When I listen to it, I'm so impressed by how eloquently it's put."
But that wasn't the only time their friendship filled in a blank space for Taylor.
"There's this song that Taylor wrote about us and it was called 'Family,'" Selena detailed. "It was over a decade ago. The lyrics subtly imply that you have these amazing dreams. You want to be in a movie, in every crowd I see you. Then her part was, you believe in my stupid dreams, like playing stadiums."
