In a surprising twist, she opted for her grandfather, David [Cornett], to fulfill that cherished role and hand her over to Benny."
The source continued, "David and his wife, Debbie, were overcome with emotion, shedding tears of happiness when Selena approached them with the request. Selena made up her mind the moment wedding planning commenced."
Representatives for both Teefey and Gomez did not promptly respond to Page Six's inquiries regarding the purported oversight.
On her special day, Gomez, 33, tied the knot with music producer Blanco, 37, in a glittering ceremony at a private estate in Santa Barbara, California, graced by the presence of Taylor Swift and other celebrities.
