Selena Gomez, no stranger to the timeless allure of old Hollywood, has consistently wowed the awards season circuit with a series of retro-inspired ensembles that exude chic sophistication. At Sunday's Oscars, the star of "Emilia Perez" opted for yet another timeless look, gracefully descending the red carpet in a custom Ralph Lauren creation that left everyone spellbound. This stunning off-the-shoulder gown featured an astonishing detail: an intricate lattice pattern adorned with over 16,000 meticulously arranged glass drops and hand-sewn Rosemont crystals. Crafted by a team of 12 Italian artisans, the dress boasted a pink ombré finish that shimmered captivatingly with every movement, achieved through an airbrush technique.

Gomez complemented her gown with a peachy nude lip color, a chic wavy bob hairstyle, and dazzling accessories including a sparkling diamond choker and drop earrings. Her stylist, Erin Walsh, revealed to E! News that the duo aimed to capture the essence of "movie star magic," drawing inspiration from Sophia Loren, one of Italy's legendary actresses. In planning the look, Gomez and Walsh even consulted with the Hollywood icon's former tailor.

On this glamorous night at LA's Dolby Theatre, Gomez's standout ensemble was just one of many that sparkled with dazzling embellishments. During the Academy's tribute to "James Bond," Doja Cat shone brightly in a custom Swarovski gown adorned with over one million crystals. Lily-Rose Depp wowed in a plunging custom Chanel lace halter dress featuring approximately 191,000 embroidery elements, including black sequins, crystals, and pearls. Meanwhile, Ariana Grande's stunning Schiaparelli gown, recently showcased on the label's Spring-Summer 2025 Haute Couture runway, came alive with over 190,000 crystal sequins, rhinestones, and cut beads.

Blush pink gowns were also a trending color on the evening's red carpet. Gomez arrived at the awards show accompanied by her fiancé, Benny Blanco, before co-presenting the Best Documentary Short Film and Best Documentary Feature categories alongside Samuel L. Jackson. Her film "Emilia Perez" received 13 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, but ultimately won only two awards — Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldaña and Best Original Song for "El Mal."

Throughout the 2025 awards season, Gomez has been celebrated as one of the best-dressed stars. Just last week, she stole the show at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in a romantic Celine gown, while at January's Golden Globes, she described her light blue Prada dress as a fusion of "Cinderella meets Jackie O" to E!.
