Sia's estranged husband, Dan Bernad, is far from seeking mere fleeting pleasures. Amid the ongoing divorce proceedings between the former couple, Dan, 47, has filed a request for a staggering $250,856 per month in temporary spousal support from the "Chandelier" songstress, as revealed by court documents obtained by E! News on October 10.
The radiation oncologist, who tied the knot with Sia, 49, in December 2022, elaborated in the filing that their union was marked by a life of luxury and upper-class opulence. Their relationship was punctuated by frequent indulgences in high-end dining and extravagant vacations aboard private jets. Dan also disclosed that Sia presented him with a Porsche 911 Targa 4 sports car as a wedding gift, fulfilling his long-held dream of owning such a vehicle after he expressed his desire to her.
Meanwhile, Dan revealed his current predicament: he is unemployed with no income. He alleged that Sia, with whom he shares an 18-month-old son named Somersault Wonder Bernad, severed financial support for their Modern Medicine clinic on April 1, according to the documents. Furthermore, he noted that his board certification in radiation oncology has lapsed and would necessitate "several years of training" to reinstate.
"Orders are imperative at this juncture because I am financially reliant on Sia," he stated in a declaration, characterizing his ex-wife as "the primary breadwinner in our marriage" who "possesses the means to provide me with spousal support to uphold our financial status quo."
In addition to spousal support, Dan has also petitioned for Sia to foot a $300,000 bill for his attorney's fees, along with $200,000 for forensic accounting expenses.
Sia, who also adopted two teenage boys in 2019, initiated divorce proceedings in March, citing irreconcilable differences, as per the documents procured by E! News at the time. In her filing, she sought legal and physical custody of Somersault, proposing that visitation rights be granted to Dan.
