Jessie J is currently on the mend following a recent health scare that shook her world. Just six weeks after bravely disclosing her surgery to treat "early breast cancer," the talented vocalist behind the hit "Price Tag" found herself back in the hospital's familiar confines. On August 2, she posted on her Instagram Stories, accompanied by a photo of an IV drip nestled in her arm, captioning it, "This is how I spent the last 24 hours. Six weeks post-surgery, and here I am again, in the very same ward where I underwent my operation. It was unforeseen and unplanned."
"I've been experiencing symptoms that hinted at a potential blood clot in my lung," she continued, her tone a blend of relief and vulnerability. "Thankfully, it's not a blood clot, praise be to God." She went on to share that doctors had pinpointed some form of infection, prompting the "Bang Bang" singer to opt for the comfort of her own bed during her recovery process.
"They conducted numerous tests, which revealed an infection (they're still determining the exact type) and a slight accumulation of fluid in my lungs," she elaborated. "It's been challenging to draw breath, but I discharged myself last night (I can't stand being in hospitals) and will pursue further investigation as an outpatient."
This hospitalization came as a sequel to her heartfelt revelation about her breast cancer diagnosis on social media two months prior. Throughout this journey, she has been unwaveringly honest about its arduous nature. In another Instagram Stories post, she poured her heart out, writing, "The physical recovery is neither swift nor effortless, and mentally, it's been the most demanding period of my life. Especially as a mother to a toddler, struggling to be the mom I naturally am."
"Having to alter my career plans for this year has been beyond frustrating, after putting in so much hard work and anticipation," she lamented. "But life is unpredictable, I understand that. And make no mistake, receiving the all-clear was nothing short of miraculous. Yet, that result didn't expedite or soften the physical recovery from surgery in any way."
Her most recent hospital stay served as a poignant reminder to press pause and allow her body the time it needed to heal. "I adore being active and on the go, but that's not an option for me now, and that's just how it is," she admitted. "I'm drawing strength from the knowledge that everything can be adapted to accommodate a slower pace, backed by the unwavering support of my intimate inner circle."
