The post, featured in r/Lanitas, a dedicated fan corner for Del Rey on the platform, exhibited a jet purportedly utilized by the chanteuse following the grand finale of her over two-year-long tour in promotion of her latest album, titled "Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd."

While celebrities chartering private jets has increasingly become a subject of contention, Del Rey's case stands out due to her public pronouncements about continuing to fly commercial. In her track "57.5," she sang, "I still fly commercial," suggesting she remained grounded and unpretentious, much like her earlier career days.

Nevertheless, the utilization of private jets poses a colossal and escalating global dilemma. According to the International Council on Clean Transportation, in 2023, private jets emitted more atmospheric pollutants than all flights originating from Heathrow Airport in London, the world's busiest aviation hub. The environmental footprint of a single private jet in a year rivals that of 177 passenger vehicles. These luxurious conveyances are undeniably a flagrant squandering of resources and a significant pollution generator, with their usage surging worldwide.

Del Rey's fanbase was divided over her adoption of the private jet. Some lambasted the singer for indulging in private flights while boasting about flying commercial in her tunes.

"This is bizarre considering her swagger about it in '57.5,'" remarked one.

"Lana has gone blonde and strayed," echoed another, alluding to her song "The Greatest."

"Private jet use is a planetary travesty for the indifferent," opined a third. "Private jets spew out more emissions than the average Joe will in a lifetime, and celebrities, especially those who serenade about flying commercial, deserve to be called out for this."

Conversely, other devotees were prompt to justify her decision, emphasizing that the jet was solely for touring purposes, and the grueling demands of touring made its use more justifiable.

"This is entirely normal and acceptable for touring, in my opinion," defended one. "It's the most logical choice. It's the celebrities who use private jets to attend parties and leisure travel that deserve scrutiny."
