The "Sure Thing" singer recently took to social media to reveal that he and his partner, Margaret Zhang, had quietly welcomed their first child into the world the previous year. In a heartfelt tribute marking their little one's first birthday, Miguel shared a post on Instagram on September 9th, featuring a video of himself and his baby (whose face was thoughtfully blurred out). "Our baby turned 1 today," he wrote with palpable affection. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGELITO!!!"
"We love you so much," he continued, his words brimming with pride and tenderness. "So proud and honored that you chose us to be your parents. Papá wrote you a song—hope it always reminds you of how loved you are."
This latest chapter in Miguel's life unfolds three years after he and his ex-wife, Nazanin Mandi, finalized their divorce following three years of marriage. According to documents obtained by E! News in October 2022, Nazanin initiated the dissolution of their union in California, citing irreconcilable differences. In her filing, she also requested that the couple's assets and properties be divided in accordance with their prenuptial agreement.
Their relationship had been a rollercoaster of on-again, off-again moments long before the divorce. They had reconciled just four months after their initial breakup in September 2021. "Heal the root so the tree is stable," Nazanin wrote on Instagram in February 2022, accompanying a series of intimate photos of the pair. "I'm so proud of us." To drive home the point that their romance had truly been rekindled, she signed the note "The Pimentel's xoxo," a nod to their shared last name.
When they first parted ways a few months earlier, their representatives told People that they had been separated "for some time now" and that they continued to "wish each other well." Even in the aftermath of their split, Nazanin made it clear that Miguel remained by her side when she needed him most—during her recovery from LASIK eye surgery. "He has Lasik sympathy pains for me lol," she quipped on her Instagram Stories at the time.
After all, Miguel and Nazanin—who began dating when they were just 19 and 18, respectively—had weathered countless storms together since their high school sweetheart days. "When you're with somebody starting from 18, a lot of things happen," Nazanin reflected to E! News after their 2018 wedding. "There's a lot of growth.
