Jonah Platt, the progeny of "Snow White" producer Marc Platt, has castigated the Disney remake's underwhelming box office performance by pinning the blame on its leading lady, Rachel Zegler. In a since-deleted Instagram tirade, the 38-year-old Platt, who is renowned for hosting the podcast "Being Jewish" and for his fleeting appearances in Netflix's "Uncoupled" and as Tip Tribby in "Being the Ricardos," accused Zegler of "narcissism" for intertwining her personal politics with the film's promotional campaign.

The comment that sparked Platt's outburst was a user's share of a report detailing how Marc Platt, the film's producer, had journeyed to New York City to "scold" Zegler amid the movie's promotional tour. According to Variety, Marc Platt's meeting with the actress was a fruitless endeavor to persuade her to delete a social media post stating, "and always remember, free palestine."

"Indeed, my father, who is steering this colossal Disney IP worth hundreds of millions of dollars, had to prioritize a coast-to-coast flight, abandoning his family, to reprimand his 20-year-old employee for entangling her personal beliefs in the midst of promoting a film she'd signed a lucrative multi-million dollar contract to endorse and publicize," Jonah Platt penned. "This is the essence of adult responsibility and accountability. Undoubtedly, her actions imparted a detrimental impact on the film's box office receipts."

He further contended, "Free speech does not empower one to utter whatever crosses their mind in their professional capacity without facing consequences. Tens of thousands of individuals toiled on that production, yet she usurped the narrative to fulfill her own youthful whims, jeopardizing the livelihoods of her colleagues, crew members, and blue-collar workers who rely on the film's success. Narcissism is neither to be pampered nor endorsed."

On Tuesday, Variety disclosed that Platt had another encounter with Zegler after she posted derogatory remarks about Donald Trump. This meeting culminated in Disney hiring a social media expert to scrutinize and oversee Zegler's online presence.
