This explosive episode debuted amidst the aftershock of CBS's abrupt announcement to terminate The Late Show, hosted by Stephen Colbert for a decade, in 2026. Amidst claims of financial necessity, the network faced an uproar, given that the news broke shortly after Colbert's criticism of Paramount—owner of both CBS and Comedy Central—for settling with Trump.
