According to the official logline, "Spider-Noir" weaves a tale of an aging private investigator, played by Cage, who finds himself grappling with his past as the city's sole superhero in the gritty 1930s New York. Morris joins the cast in the recurring role of Robbie Robertson, a driven and hardworking journalist who refuses to be deterred by the challenges of being a black professional in that era. Unafraid to take on riskier stories that others shy away from, he strives to make a name for himself and earn a paycheck, all while doing whatever it takes to further his career.

Marvel enthusiasts will recall Robertson as a long-standing supporting character in the "Spider-Man" comics, where he serves as an editor at The Daily Bugle. His presence also extends to the comics mini-series "Spider-Man Noir: Eyes Without a Face." Morris is perhaps best recognized for his portrayal of Winston Bishop in the beloved Fox comedy series "New Girl," which spanned seven successful seasons. His recent credits include a stellar performance in Season 5 of the critically acclaimed FX anthology "Fargo" and the Hulu comedy "Woke." He has also made appearances on shows such as "Ghosts" on CBS, "Call Me Kat" on Fox, and "The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder" on Disney+. Upcoming projects include a role in the film "SNL 1975" as Garrett Morris and a guest appearance in the second season of the Netflix comedy "Unstable."

He is masterfully represented by a quartet of esteemed agencies: CAA, Entertainment 360, The Lede Company, and Myman Greenspan. The enigmatic "Spider-Noir" springs to life from the creative minds of Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, who will not only helm the show as co-showrunners but also lend their expertise as executive producers. Together with the renowned "Into the Spider-Verse" team comprising Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, they have crafted this series with precision and passion. Harry Bradbeer, an industry stalwart, will oversee the executive production and helm the first two episodes, setting the tone for this thrilling adventure. Pascal's Pascal Pictures adds further depth to the production, executive producing the series. Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios have come together to produce this spectacular show, with Lord and Miller, under their overall deal with Sony, overseeing the creative vision. "Spider-Noir" marks the second collaboration between Amazon and Sony in their partnership to develop projects centered around Marvel's Spider-Man characters, under Sony's control. The first, "Silk: Spider Society," had initially received the green light in 2022 but unfortunately did not progress further at Amazon, as reported in May.
