Stephen Curry candidly admitted that during his date night with his wife Ayesha at the Met Gala, his mind wandered at times. The 38-year-old NBA star and his 37-year-old wife looked absolutely stunning at the 2026 Met Gala on Monday, May 4th, just a few blocks away from where the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers were battling it out in Game 1 of their second-round NBA playoffs series. Curry donned a dramatic hooded suit jacket for the fashion's biggest night, while Ayesha wore a sexy sheer black dress with a leather jacket draped over her arms.

While speaking to E! News host Zuri Hall, Curry revealed his inner conflict from being at the gala. "On one hand, I love it," he said. "On the other hand, that means I'm not playing basketball right now."
Curry and the Golden State Warriors didn't make the NBA playoffs this season after being eliminated by the Phoenix Suns in a play-in game last month. The day after their loss, Curry and Ayesha went into postseason mode and hit the second weekend of Coachella in Indio, California, where they enjoyed sets by Justin Bieber and Labyrinth.
Trading his Warriors jersey for a luxury suit at the gala on Monday, Curry joked to E!, "It's fun to have a different crew and crowd of guys that I compete against showing themselves in the fashion world. It's amazing."
Curry and Ayesha also enjoyed some family time in New York City before hitting the Met Gala carpet on Monday. Four days before the gala, Ayesha gave fans a glimpse into Curry's "dad mode" with their daughter Riley, 13, in an Instagram post. "Took our big girl to the big apple. Core memories. Swipe to see full dad mode activation," the Sweet July founder wrote in her caption.
The post showed a carousel of adorable photos from their trip, including Curry and Riley smiling for a selfie in the back of a car, visiting the Jellycat Diner in the city, and another shot of the Warriors star holding an FAO Schwartz shopping bag while waiting in a dressing room chair.
Curry and Ayesha are also parents to daughter Ryan, 10, and sons Canon, 7, and Caius, who turns 2 on May 11th.
