Stevie Wonder has decisively put an end to persistent rumors with a heartfelt declaration. During a captivating performance in Cardiff, Wales, as part of his Love, Light and Song U.K. tour, the R&B legend tackled long-standing speculation about his sight in a poignant moment caught on a fan's Instagram video during the July 10th concert.

"Let me share with you all something I've been contemplating, 'When did I decide it was time to let the world in on this secret?' But the moment is now," Stevie confided from the stage. "You've all heard whispers about me seeing and such, haven't you? But honestly, you're well aware of the truth."

For those still in the dark, the 75-year-old musician set the record straight with clarity and conviction. "The truth is, I lost my sight shortly after entering this world," Stevie continued, his voice resonating with sincerity. "And believe it or not, that turned out to be a blessing. It gifted me the ability to perceive the world through a vision of truth, a sight beyond the physical. I see people for their spirits, not their appearances or skin colors, but the hues of their souls."

This profound revelation isn't the first time Stevie has imparted a meaningful message about his blindness. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer has often spoken about maintaining a positive outlook despite his childhood blindness, even when his mother, Lula Mae Hardaway, struggled to come to terms with it.

"I was born, and shortly thereafter, blindness enveloped me," Stevie shared in an episode of the 2024 audiobook series 'The Wonder of Stevie.' "My mother went through a whirlwind of emotions, and my experience with that was deeply impactful."

Recalling how his mother wept "every night" following his diagnosis, the 'Superstitious' crooner eventually consoled her, saying, "Mama, your tears are giving me a headache." He added, "'Perhaps God has something greater in store for me, something beyond all this,'" Stevie continued. "And history has proven that to be undeniably true."
