Netflix has unveiled an enticing sneak peek into the stellar cast and breathtaking sets of the highly anticipated fifth season of Stranger Things. Here's a behind-the-scenes glimpse, capturing the Hawkins kids (are they still kids, indeed?) in their iconic roles, along with a glimpse of the intricate sets.
"I embarked on this journey when I was just 10, and now, as I turn 20, it feels surreal," revealed Millie Bobby Brown, portraying the enigmatic Eleven. "It's a strange sensation." Noah Schnapp, who portrays Will Byers, added, "The excitement is overwhelming. I believe this is going to be our best season yet."
The Duffer Brothers, the masterminds behind the show, revealed that production for the final season is approximately halfway through. Brown had previously mentioned that filming is anticipated to conclude around Christmas, with the season set to premiere sometime in 2025.
Maya Hawke recently told Podcrushed that the eight episodes of the final season of this sci-fi sensation will be akin to "eight epic movies" and noted their "substantial length." She further elaborated, "Our showrunners, Matt and Ross [Duffer], are incredibly dedicated. They have an outstanding team of writers, but they're deeply involved. They write extensively and are passionate about maintaining the quality of the storytelling. It takes a considerable amount of time to craft each season and even longer to film them."
The production also announced the addition of three new talents to the season five cast: Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux. While the fifth season marks the end of the series, there are still more Stranger Things adventures in the pipeline, including a live stage production titled Stranger Things: The First Shadow in London's West End and an animated spin-off series, whose name remains a mystery.
Stranger Things made its debut on Netflix in 2016 and quickly rose to become one of the streaming giant's most beloved shows. Its latest fourth season garnered a staggering 140 million views worldwide, testament to its enduring popularity and captivating storytelling.
