The co-creator of "Stranger Things," Ross Duffer, sent heartfelt wishes of a "joyous halfway mark" to the stellar cast and crew, signaling the momentous milestone of the fifth and final season being halfway through filming. In a Wednesday Instagram post, Duffer captioned a picture showcasing the entire ensemble with the caption, "Week 24. A jubilant halfway mark to honoring the greatest cast and crew ever."

Accompanying the photograph was a charming clip of actor Finn Wolfhard, who portrays Mike Wheeler in the beloved series. In the clip, Wolfhard can be seen delicately placing a marble into a jar, each marble symbolizing a week of filming. Duffer humorously inquired, "How does it feel?" to which Wolfhard quipped, "Exactly the same," before giving the writer a high-five.

For those ardent fans eager for new episodes, this news might not be the most thrilling update. Filming commenced in the early days of January, implying a likely conclusion by the end of 2024, followed by several months of post-production.

The anticipation for the final season has been palpable. The Duffer brothers embarked on scripting the finale way back in August 2022, with production initially scheduled for the following summer. However, due to the writers' and actors' strikes, the commencement was delayed. After the writers' strike was resolved, the Duffer brothers' writers' room reopened in October 2023, following its closure on May 6th.

On a more positive note, fans are not entirely left in the dark about what awaits in the new season. Since the commencement of production, the "Stranger Things" team has been generous in discussing and sharing sneak peeks of the upcoming episodes. Actress Maya Hawke, who portrays Robin Buckley, even divulged on a June episode of the "Podcrushed" podcast that they are "essentially making eight movies." Moreover, Duffer has been consistently updating his Instagram followers with insights from the past 24 weeks of filming.
