Surprise! Serena Williams Popped Out at the Halftime Show

A Super Bowl halftime show lacks soul without a delightful, unexpected twist. Imagine Lady Gaga daringly leaping from the stadium's rooftop, Usher gliding across the stage on roller skates, and now, Kendrick Lamar pulling off a coup by having Serena Williams crip walk to a song where he labels her ex-boyfriend a "pedophile." It's a mesmerizing spectacle where anything can happen!

After teasingly building anticipation throughout his performance, Lamar finally unleashed "Not Like Us" towards the climax of his set. The crowd erupted in a frenzy, and the next thing we saw was Serena Williams, looking absolutely ecstatic, dancing to Drake's diss track as if she was living her best life.

Surprise! Serena Williams Popped Out at the Halftime Show 1

There's more to this story than meets the eye. Firstly, Williams and Lamar share a hometown prodigy bond from Compton, creating a natural connection between them. Secondly, Williams and Drake were rumored to have been an item around 2015. Last summer, following the devastating release of "Not Like Us," the Canadian rapper dropped footage of him composing the 2016 song "Too Good." In the video, he admitted that the track was inspired by the tennis star. If you've forgotten the lyrics, they go, "I'm too good for you/I'm way too good for you/You take my love for granted/I just don't understand it." Can you imagine your ex penning such lyrics about you, and then ten years later, you get the chance to dance triumphantly on their metaphorical grave? Williams wouldn't have missed that for the world.

But Williams wasn't the only superstar to make a cameo at Lamar's halftime show. Samuel L. Jackson, dressed as Uncle Sam, stole the show as the master of ceremonies. As announced earlier, SZA joined Lamar to perform "Luther" and "All the Stars," adding another layer of intrigue to the event. By the way, SZA also dated Drake back in 2009. If Lamar had somehow convinced Rihanna to appear too, I doubt we'd ever hear from Drake again.
