Tamar Braxton is in the midst of recovery following a harrowing, near-fatal encounter. The talented singer behind the hit "All the Way Home" opened up about her recent, terrifying brush with mortality, revealing that she was discovered in a perilous state by a beloved one.
"I'm struggling to pen these words, as calls keep pouring in, and honestly, I'm too weak to speak much anymore," she confided in an Instagram Stories post on August 19. "On Sunday, I teetered on the brink of death. My friend found me in a pool of my own blood, with a grim facial injury."
Though Tamar, aged 48, was fortunately rescued in the nick of time, she elaborated that the aftershocks of this traumatic experience have only intensified with each passing day. "As days unfold, the situation worsens," she continued. "I sustained a fractured nose, lost teeth, and even my mobility has been compromised."
Sharing her 12-year-old son, Logan Herbert, with her ex-husband Vincent Herbert, Tamar noted that despite having no recollection of the incident, it has profoundly altered her perspective on life. "My outlook on life has undergone a complete transformation," she shared. "As my physical health gradually heals, my mental journey is just beginning... Please keep me in your prayers, genuinely."
Just hours prior to disclosing her ordeal, Tamar posted a cryptic message on her Instagram Stories, resharing a post that read, "Thank you, God, for waking me up today."
Tamar, a former cast member of Braxton Family Values, had also faced another health scare in December 2022, when she was struck down by flu-like symptoms. "I was out shopping and enjoying festive fun with my best friends @normankgyamfi and @wardellmalloy," she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post at the time. "But the very next day, I was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, needing oxygen as I struggled to breathe, feeling like God was calling me home, with my chest burning up!"
She subsequently urged her followers to "exercise caution," emphasizing that her illness was "extremely contagious." "I hadn't been around many people and had no idea where it came from," she noted. "Enjoy your holidays at home... you don't want this."
