Tara Reid, the American Pie actress, was carried out of a Chicago hotel on a stretcher early Sunday morning, November 23rd, as captured by a distressed onlooker's video, which was subsequently obtained by TMZ. At 12:39 a.m., a call for an ambulance came in from a DoubleTree hotel in the Chicago area for a "sick person" who was later transported to the hospital.

The footage of the incident shows several individuals assisting the visibly dazed Reid into a wheelchair in the hotel lobby. During one tense moment, a man holding the actress up and another holding onto the chair can be seen exchanging words. "We're going to take you to your room, okay?" one of the men, wearing a uniform, tells Reid as she looks around, seemingly confused and slurring her words.

After an uncertain amount of time, three paramedics are seen walking Reid, who was now on a stretcher, out of the hotel. The onlooker who captured the video told TMZ that before the paramedics arrived, Reid could be heard saying, "You don't know who I am. I am famous. I'm an actress."

Following the incident, Reid has filed a police report alleging that her drink was tampered with. In a statement, her representative shared that "Tara is cooperating fully with the investigation. Tara is recovering and asks for privacy during this traumatic time. She also urges everyone to be careful, watch your drinks and never leave them unattended, as this can happen to anyone."

Despite the incident, Reid has continued to work on various films, including The Dreamer Cinderella and last appearing onscreen in the 2023 vampire flick Bloodthirst. She has also been candid about the response to her appearance in recent years, particularly after being criticized for being "too skinny" by viewers of season 2 of Special Forces: World's Toughest Test and celebrities like Billy Bush. "If we were overweight then they can't say anything because that's bullying. But it's the same thing if you're skinny. That’s still bullying too," she said in 2023 to the Los Angeles Inquisitor.
