"It's bizarre how the body clock remembers," Momsen wrote in the caption. "Last night, I was sitting alone in my hotel room in São Paulo, unaware of the date (they all blend together on tour), and I was hit with an overwhelming sadness over Michelle."

She added, "When I woke up, I realized it's been a year without her. Life is hard. I wish...I miss...I wish..."

Gellar, 48, also commented on the post, writing, "Love you friend."

Currently on the road with her band The Pretty Reckless, Momsen starred as Jenny Humphrey on "Gossip Girl" from 2007 to 2010. Trachtenberg appeared as Georgina Sparks from 2008 to 2012. She passed away last year due to complications from diabetes mellitus, as confirmed by the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner at the time.

The late actress, also known for her role as Dawn Summers on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," was also honored by her "Buffy" costar Gellar on Thursday. Gellar wrote in an Instagram tribute that she wasn't sure how a year had passed since Trachtenberg's loss.

"I'm one of the lucky ones who has over 30 years of memories with you," Gellar wrote. "From our first day on set together to less than a year later when you were already taller than me." She continued, "But I first worked with you on 'All My Children.' I watched you become a star with 'Harriet.' You were great to my kids. You attended countless kids' birthdays, even though I'm sure you had somewhere cooler to be."

Gellar concluded, "But most of all, when I think of you, that smile that took up your entire face and brought so much joy to others is what comes to mind. You may not have been with us long enough, but we will make sure everyone remembers."

Following Trachtenberg's death last year, Momsen described her friend as "smart and sassy, bold and sensitive, funny as hell and filled with fire."

"I am so grateful to have had a friend like you in my life for so long," Momsen wrote at the time. "You were a true friend to me, which is a rarity in this world. I can't believe I won't hear your voice again. I grieve with all her fans around the world, and my heart is with her family and loved ones."
