Taylor Swift has forged an alliance with The Chainsmokers to create a thrilling remix of "The Fate of Ophelia," the lead single from her latest album, "The Life of a Showgirl." The 35-year-old pop icon released the original version on October 3, and now fans can indulge in a new version that blends basslines and EDM elements.
Announcing the release on the official Instagram fan account, Taylor Nation, her team exclaimed, "The Fate of Ophelia (The Chainsmokers Remix) is wrapping around us like a chain, a crown, a vine. Download it now!" The Chainsmokers described their collaboration as an "honor," commenting, "This is truly an honor [prayer emoji] we love you T."

The remix arrives just weeks after Taylor's surprise release of "The Fate of Ophelia (Alone In My Tower – Acoustic Version)," a stripped-back version exclusively available on iTunes. In just 24 hours, "The Life of a Showgirl" shifted 2.7 million units in the US alone, marking the biggest single-day sales of Taylor's career and the second-highest opening week total since Luminate began tracking in 1991, trailing only Adele's 25 at the time.
Taylor is known for her love of surprising fans and hiding Easter eggs for a "little extra layer of entertainment." She recently told Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2, "I really want my music to be a surprise for my fans. And I really want to figure out how to do those surprises in ways that are clever and fun for them and feel like entertainment. And if you don't need Easter eggs, then you can disregard that and that doesn't need to happen."
She continued, "You don't need to do math if you don't want to, but if you want a little extra layer of entertainment, like I like to be able to do that. That's why we're so shrouded in secrecy..." The Blank Space crooner added with a smile. "They found out a really fun one the other day which is that if you line up all of the titles of the songs on the album, in the center, it makes the shape of The Eras Tour stage. And I was so pleased when they found that out. I was like, yes. They are everywhere. There are some weird ones that have absolutely no bearing in reality," Taylor Swift concluded at that time.
